Site Selection

While no two Goddard Schools are exactly the same, we do have building requirements that must be met. Our real estate team will work with you to select a suitable building site. We use data and analytics to identify suitable locations for Goddard School franchises.

A prospective suburban franchise site for a Goddard School should ideally meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • A prototype building size of about 8,500 to 10,000 square feet and a playground area;

  • A minimum lot size of one acre.

A prospective metropolitan franchise site for a Goddard School should ideally meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • A building size of 8,500 square feet or larger on the first floor of an existing metropolitan building that we can retrofit. We will consider some locations with space on both the first and second floors if the first floor has enough space for the office, the entry and the classrooms for infants and non-ambulatory children. We may require access to an elevator in any space above the first floor;

  • Access to a playground area.

The following site conditions are considered desirable for our childcare business locations:

  • Locations near residential communities, neighborhood business areas, office or corporate campuses and retail pad sites;

  • Locations near an open, planned or under construction elementary school;

  • Locations near single-family home construction and existing homes with high resale values.
